County wide offices

county mayor- (4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must be a qualified voter of the county
• Must be at least (25) years of age
• Must reside in the country at least (1) year prior to filing a nomination petition
• Must reside in the county throughout the term and may not hold any other public office for profit during the term.

County Clerk- (4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county

Circuit Court Clerk- (4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county wherein the court is

Property Assessor - (4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county
• No member of the County Commission may hold the office of Assessor TCA 67-1-503

Register of Deeds - (4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county

Trustee -(4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county

Local District Offices

County Commissioner -(4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must reside within the county

School Board -(4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications
• Must be residents and voters of their district and not hold any other office
• No member of the country legislative body not any other county official shall be eligible for election as a member of the county board of education
• All members must file with the Election Commission proof of a high school diploma or GED diploma before qualifying for the office. TCA 49-2-201.

Constable -(4 year term)

• Must conform to all general qualifications;
• Must file and affidavit with the nominating petition stating that they are (21) years of age;
• Must be a qualified voter of the district they represent;
• Must be able to read and write;
• Have no felony convictions and have no military discharge other than honorable;
